#SooC52 Week 17 – Books

This week’s topic was chosen by…ermm… well, I forget, but I’m sure someone will correct me in the comments. But it’s a good one! Anyone that knows me fairly well, knows that I love books. Books of all kinds. I particularly love graphic novels, but I read a lot of novels of all sorts, with an emphasis on fantasy and science-fiction. I read mostly fiction, but occasionally read (or listen via Audible) to some non-fiction. Right now my currently reading list is
Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin,
Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times, and Corruption of Atlantic City by Nelson Johnson,
Lazarus Vol 1 by Greg Rucka and Michael Lark,
Enemies Foreign and Domestic by Matthew Bracken,
And Another Thing… (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy #6)
by Eoin Colfer
and Machine of Death (Anthology).
I kind of bounce between them. You can follow my book reading and see some of my library on my goodreads profile here.

So clearly, I was excited for this as a topic and I had a fair idea for it right from the get go. I don’t know how terribly original the idea is, but I thought it fit the topic and me pretty well. Not much necessary to explain, so I’ll just show the end result.

The Love of Books

Canon 5D Mii, 50mm, f/2, 1/80, ISO160. Flash set at 1/128 above and to camera right shot straight to me, zoomed to 105mm. Second flash set at 1/128 shot into wall to bounce camera left.

I didn’t initially plan on reading on my kindle fire HD, but both Eje and Pete had something to do with ebooks, so thought I’d throw that in there. I prefer to read paper books, especially with comics, but I definitely take advantage of the library system for ebooks. I also get a free book from Amazon every month for my kindle.

I put a few important books around me, including a couple I made as well. See if you can spot them. I put one in there particularly for John P, we’ll see if he notices! 8)

Do you have a favorite book? I always enjoy talking about them, so leave some comments below!

Looks like Doug is back now that he is finished with his teaching. Bruce I believe officially dropped, at least until his house is finished (I’m going to be running into that problem later in the summer too…but on the plus side, I’ll have a room dedicated as a library!)
