Another great giveaway!

I was approached once again by the great folks over at Giveaway Blogs about doing a print giveaway. Up this month is a set of 100 postcards from Uprinting.com for one lucky recipient. Unfortunately, this is only available to US residents over the age of 18.

So what exactly can you get? It’s 100 glossy 5” x 7” 14pt Cardstock postcards, printed on the front side only. These would work great as postcards, advertising mailers, promotional pieces, invitations, you name it. I’ve had Uprinting do a large format poster for me last time I had a giveaway and that looked good, so I would expect these postcards would look good also.
For an example of what you can get, here is an image from Uprinting:

Free social media icon set

A little while ago I designed some custom social media icons that I now use on my blog and web site. You can see them just below the subscribe links in my left hand sidebar. I had originally planned on giving them away for free, but never got around to it. So now I finally am. Feel free to use this icon package for whatever you like. In the .zip file I have each icon in 3 different sizes (100px, 75px, & 25px) as transparent .pngs.
Get the social media icon set here in this handy .zip file. (209Kb)

New Refine Edge tutorial for Photoshop

Refine Edge buttonThe newest tutorial on the Refine Edge function for Photoshop CS3 is now available.

The refine edge function is the best way to get the best selection you want. Use it especially in conjunction with the magic wand and quick selection tools.

If you missed it, don’t forget to watch the other tutorials available here.

I went with a bit wider of a video format this time so that I didn’t have any wasted space when I post it on YouTube. Not sure if this is a great way to go, since the videos are hosted on here, but I didn’t want to make two different versions either. Let me know what you think. Are they too short, or do you prefer the widescreen format? If I happened to miss anything, let me know in the comments below. Don’t forget to subscribe by clicking the link to the left for any updates, new tutorials, and more.

Free seamless cloth textures

Here is another set of totally free textures for you to use at your whim. They are completely seamless, so you can loop them as many times as you want and not be able to see a seam whatsoever. Of course, the more they are looped, you will notice some repetition, but I do generally remove any big blatant indicators of it.

Soon to come will be a video on how to create these, from the photo taking to the computer.

I do appreciate if you mention where you obtained them if you do use them. And let me know if you do and share what you made using it. On to the goodness!

Right click and hit save as to download.
Download the whole texture pack here in a handy dandy zip file. (31.8MB)
